The recent monsoon flooding that started on Friday, August 12, 2017 has created a havoc in the Terai region of Nepal and parts of India. People in Nepal urgently need our support! As of the recent report, 21,465 families have been displaced, 123 individuals have died, 35 are missing, 39 injured, 2,698 houses have been damaged and 48,556 houses have been inundated with flooding. (Data Source: Home Ministry, Government of Nepal as of Aug 15)
Nepal Rising is collaborating with Alliance for Disaster Relief for Terai Floods, a youth initiated citizen-led project organized by youth groups, smaller and larger organizations to co-ordinate, collaborate, and provide relief efforts to flood survivors in the Terai region of Nepal. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly towards providing relief efforts to flood survivors in Terai. Any donations small or large matters!

UPDATES - Jaleshwor Relief Project
Aug 23 2017: First round of relief completed
Relief for Mahottari was successfully completed by Santosh Nandan Bhandari of the Alliance, providing 300 families with daily food supply to the local authorities. The total supply of relief was: 5250kg rice, 1050kg dal, 350 liter mustard oil, 350kg salt, 1750kg potato and 700kg onion.
Aug 17 2017: Nepal Rising and Gorkhaly Foundation is collectively supporting essential food supplies for 300 desperate Musahar families in Jaleshwor Nagarpalika of Mahottari district through Alliance for Disaster Relief, at a cost of USD 4,000. Action for Nations is supporting 200 additional families.
Each family will receive the following:
Estimated cost per family: NRs. 1280 (USD 12.50)
Location: 8 Mushahar villages - Khaira Gau, Maibara, Dhaubauli, Jaleshwor, Suga, Sari, Bajrahi
Population: 500 families
