Project Milestones
Apr 4 2017: Painting of school buildings, classrooms and computer lab by volunteers completed
Mar 29 2017: Reinforcement of the third building planned by construction volunteers, slated to begin May 10
Mar 2017: Wall stablized with chicken wire plaster method; Painting of buildings completed
Dec 2 2016: Construction of 2 buildings completed; 5 volunteers plastered all floors and stone level
Nov 23 2016: Construction resumed after a pause for monsoon and festivities
Sep 26 2016: Follow-up with Department of Education
May 28 2016: Construction of Building 2 underway
Apr  24 2016: Handover program to start daily classes in 3  newly built classrooms
Apr 18 2016: Building 1 (3-room block) completed
Apr 11 2016: Funds dispatched by Nepal Rising/NYK
Apr   1 2016: Reconstruction of new buildings begin
Mar 24 2016: Ground cleard for construction work
Mar 23 2016: Demolition work completed

Project Goals

  • Reconstruction of 2 buildings for 6 classrooms
  • Reinforcement of the roof structure of the 3rd building  
  • Demolition and resconstruction of dividing wall
  • Repair of building corners/columns
  • Reuse of foundation
